[Eat] Chee Cheong Fun + Fried Mee Hoon @ Pudu Wai Sek Kai, Kuala Lumpur

One of the best moments with my best buddy is always about getting good food especially when it's cheap and stall-like place. Suddenly it came to my mind to go to Pudu Wai Sek Kai, one of the best pick during night time. I couldn't even count the food variety choices you can choose to order. I considered the great tastiness of food ranges from 85-90%. It's FREAKING cheap! I spent about RM20 for the whole meal and you can see below what type of food I have doubled, it's all DOUBLE as we have 2 person eating.

Curry Chee Cheong Fun - one of the top chosen food there and it's definitely delicious!

Fried Mee Hoon with curry - best combination to eat with curry as it spices up the taste of it. Super yummy!

Yam Cake - Nom nom nom! Nice!

The Famous Fried Chicken in Pudu Wai Sek Kai - Irresistible man! You will see a long queue just to buy these fried chicken and surprisingly everyone will be patiently waiting for it. You will see pictures below what's the crowd like at the stall and also the place.

Barley Beancurd Sheet Dessert - my favourite dessert of all time. SLURPY!

Sugar Cane Juice - originally squeezed out from the sugar cane sticks and it's absolutely fresh! Pictures below of how it was produced by the old couple!

This is the Chee Cheong Fun, Fried Mee Hoon and the Barly Beancurd Sheet dessert Stall. Their working speed is freaking fast plus superb brain memory storage.

[Eat] Yummy Tracka Durian Snow Ice 竹脚榴莲飘香雪花冰 + Chilled Mango Sago Creme with Pomelo and Mango Ice Cream + Glutinous Rice Balls with Black Sesame & Peanut Toppings@TongPak Fu 糖百府, Mines Balakong

I would like to apologize for not blogging for quite sometime as I have accidentally sprained my shoulder and torn ligament that led to slight shoulder dislocation. Doctor strongly advised not to use the laptop at the moment. So I opted to blog from my iPhone now. Hehe better than nothing :-)

Well I have to thank my close buddy to drive me out during the time that I couldn't drive at all to taste some desserts recently opened in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. I chose one of the Tong Pak Fu 糖百府 branch at the Mines so we could meet up another friend there. Still, pictures could tell thousands of words and here you go.

Durian Lover Must Eat This! Tong Pak Fu's Tracka Durian Snow Ice 竹脚榴莲飘香雪花冰.
It was so mango-creamy taste. Well I pretty much addicted to the Tracka Durian Snow Ice and thissssssss mouth-watering Chilled Mango Sago Creme with Pomelo and Mango Ice Cream.

Glutinous Rice Balls with Black Sesame & Peanut Toppings. The spongy bite feeling of this rice balls is definitely unforgettable. The more you bite it, the more you want to taste and eat it. Dipped with the Peanut Toppings -> perfect match! Definitely recommended to eat this also.

[Eat] Succulent Steamed Rare Fish (Amazon/Siamese Red Tail Catfish) + Stewed Pork Leg + Bak Kut Teh @Hou Yee Kei Bak Kut Teh Stall/Corner (好易记肉骨茶) OUG

In conjunction of Mother's Day celebration dinner, we supposedly set to have dinner in one of the luxurious restaurant but after long consideration we decided to go to one place lesser people that we ate before once for long time ago. So it was the Hou Yee Kei Bak Kut Teh Stall/Corner 好易记肉骨茶 OUG. It wasn't a shop nor a restaurant but it was just corner with the normal zinc roof on top and open air space with tables and chairs. We remembered it was nice before so give it a try once again.

We ordered 2 types of fish + 1 dish of pork leg + 1 portion of bak kut teh + 1 plateful of vegetables.

Steamed Rare Fishes + Stewed Pork Leg + Bak Kut Teh + Vegetables-Yau Mak Choi (油麥菜) = Unforgettable succulent dinner.

Savory Steamed Rare Fish (Amazon Redtail Catfish/Siamese Redtail Catfish/紅尾鴨嘴/紅尾虎) - the meat texture was incredibly tender and toothsome. I did a research about this type of fish, it is known as an excellent sport fish which requires a long spirited battle on rod and line and it was being called with different names (best name I could find would be the above). It is famous as primary target species for the anglers. Not easy to catch, but it seems to be one of the common aquarium fish. In Kuala Lumpur, I hardly could be offered with such fish nor seen in any of my friends' aquarium. But no doubt, this fish was definitely a must try and the taste of it was just perfectly flavoured. Irresistible!

Couldn't resist to show you guys more on this fish.  Based on the facts that I managed to research on the internet, this size is considered very small. It can grow very big and huge, some I saw was about 35kg weight. I'm definitely interested to know more about this fish.

Another view of this fish! Awesome!

Big Head Carp Steamed Fish with garlic and ginger, topped with chopped parsley

The Big Head Carp Fish was pretty big though-yummy!

Succulent Stewed Pork Leg garnished with parsley

Closer view of the stewed pork-the taste was superb, mouth-watering.

The more I look at it, the more I wanted to eat it again!

Oh! Almost forgotten to introduce their main dish actually - Bak Kut Teh. However, I think the other dishes above way too good compare to this-totally overcame it.

Romaine Lettuce Chinese Style - normal way the oyster sauce and some  fried garlic garnishing.

Name: Hou Yee Kei Bak Kut Teh Stall/Corner (好易记肉骨茶)
Location: Pretty hard to spot actually, it's at a corner of a shoplot. Nearby Jalan Mesra Ria Road / Road next to Sunday's Pasar Malam (Inter-junction of OUG and Kuchai Lama traffic lights). Check out the pictures above on how it looks like.
Price: Absolutely cheaper than alot of chinese restaurants in KL.

[Eat] Yummy Chee Cheong Fun 猪肠粉 (Steamed Rice Roll) @Uni Choice Taman Yulek, Cheras KL

It was a relaxing Saturday, woke up late and had lunch with sister and mum. During our lunch, I have suggested to go for a movie, we watched 'Safe' by Jason Statham. I have to say it was a great action movie, story was pretty good too. Must watch! Okay let's back to our food topic :-p. Came home and took a power nap after few previous busy weeks I have. So woke up about 8 or 9 pm, of course my stomach is asking for food again.

My sister basically shouting for food too and suggested to go for Chee Cheong Fun (Steamed Rice Roll) in Taman Yulek Cheras. So I have to get out my bed asap to get myself ready and rushed to my car, my mum also prepared herself with nice clothes. Drove our way there, luckily managed to get a car park slot for the first round. Out of 10 times, only 1 time I could get so lucky for this slot nearby to the stall. [Eat] Abundance Dinner @Canton-I, The Gardens Mid Valley

It's been few weeks I didn't manage to post more of my meals, was pretty busy lately. So now this weekend seems to be more relaxing and here I'm commenting on one of my restaurant food - Canton-I, The Gardens Mid Valley. They serves Hong Kong Cuisine food to their customers, very crowded restaurant and their service just great!

Question 1 is 'How would I spend a night after work and drove myself, my mum and aunt all the way from Cyberjaya and picked them up along my way to Mid Valley?'. Well the answer was my aunt rang me up and asked if I have the time to take her to Mid Valley to buy some accessories for her new toy. I have already knew that she received a gift --> the NEW iPad (iPad 3) the day before.

Question 2 is how to eat such ample and abundant amount of food Dinner with mum and aunt as shown below. It was just way too much of food. I guess my aunt was pretty excited and ordered the amount of food which can served for 10 big guys to eat. Haha just a description to show how full I was back then.

Rose-Smoked Premium Soy Sauce Chicken (RM1 Chicken) - Highlight promotion of the dinner. Portion: Whole chicken! The meat was so tender, taste was just okay.

Tasty! Three Combination of Meat (Option: Honey-glazed BBQ Pork, Roast Pork Belly, Soy Sauce Chicken or Roast Duck).

Jumbo Prawn Dumpling Soup - Irresistible taste!!!

Normal Plain Wan Tan Mee (云吞面)to eat together with the food we ordered! The texture was smooth and the spongy bite just made you feel want to eat more.

Stuffed Chinese Crullers (油炸鬼/Youtiao/Yao Char Kway) with Cuttlefish Paste and Steamed Rice Noodles. First time trying this dish, once bite, new kind of taste for me but it was amazingly nice combination of food aroma. Nice!

Our Dessert - Tong Sui: Barley Beancurd Skin with Gingko and Quail Egg Soup (白果腐竹鹌鹑蛋糖水) - Taste was just okay. Might be able to get better taste outside.

Healthy Vegetable Juice - Vegetables, Pineapple, Broccoli and Celery

Superb taste, love it! Signature Egg Tarts, Hong Kong Lotus Pastry and Baked BBQ Pork Pastry

[Eat] Delicious Dim Sum - Crowded Place@ Taiji Eatery Restaurant, Bandar Puteri Puchong

One day I made a call to friend to borrow her micro 4/3rd camera Olympus E-P3 for my grandaunt 80th birthday dinner and asked her out for breakfast too. Well, she lives in Puchong and decided to try search for a good breakfast there. She recommended this dimsum restaurant, Taiji Eatery Restaurant at Bandar Puteri Puchong. When I reached there, I have to blurt out 'wow' again for the crowd. For a Chinese township, of course there will be lots more dimsum shop, and to my surprise it was crowded, this shop is located almost at the last row of the business lot. So I think I have made the right choice of following her recommendation. Please pardon me if I couldn't really write in Chinese :p I will try to put in more in chinese wordings after confirming it with my friends.

One of the prawn dimsum --> pretty good!

I think this is called 'Char Siew Sou' - Biscuit type of dimsum --> fillings were some flavoured pork not so sure what it made of.

Fried fish paste cake with sweetened sour sauce.

One of my favourite, Har Kuen - Prawn Roll --> Fried type ---- Yummy!

Hong Kong Prawn Chee Cheong Fun --> Nice!

Another type of Prawn Dimsum again but these were with parsley, hmm, pretty not my kind because of the parsley smell. For those who like parsley, I bet you will like it. The skin of the dimsum pretty thin and looked soft.

Steamed Fish Balls --> Delicious!

Chopped/Minced Crabstick Meat Dimsum -> Nom nom nom.... tasty!

Errmm, another parsley type dimsum, I think it's with Prawn. I dare not to touch it so not sure what it taste like because of the smell. My friend said it's very delicious, so I think yes.

Steamed Pork Ribs with Beans --> The taste was superb!

Stir-Fried Radish Cake - the taste is like those Fried Kuey Teow (Char Kuey Teow) but it's not noodle type 'hor fun' but in cubes of chopped radish cakes. Aroma was good and delicious!

Crowded!!! Pretty strategic location at the corner of shoplot but 2nd last row from the whole shoplot area.

Name: Taiji Eatery Restaurant
Address: No. 2, Jalan Puteri 2/3, Bandar Puteri, Puchong, 47100, Puchong, Selangor.

Food: Yummy!
Crowd: Very crowded and have to wait for vacant table to be seated!
