[Eat] Chee Cheong Fun + Fried Mee Hoon @ Pudu Wai Sek Kai, Kuala Lumpur

One of the best moments with my best buddy is always about getting good food especially when it's cheap and stall-like place. Suddenly it came to my mind to go to Pudu Wai Sek Kai, one of the best pick during night time. I couldn't even count the food variety choices you can choose to order. I considered the great tastiness of food ranges from 85-90%. It's FREAKING cheap! I spent about RM20 for the whole meal and you can see below what type of food I have doubled, it's all DOUBLE as we have 2 person eating.

Curry Chee Cheong Fun - one of the top chosen food there and it's definitely delicious!

Fried Mee Hoon with curry - best combination to eat with curry as it spices up the taste of it. Super yummy!

Yam Cake - Nom nom nom! Nice!

The Famous Fried Chicken in Pudu Wai Sek Kai - Irresistible man! You will see a long queue just to buy these fried chicken and surprisingly everyone will be patiently waiting for it. You will see pictures below what's the crowd like at the stall and also the place.

Barley Beancurd Sheet Dessert - my favourite dessert of all time. SLURPY!

Sugar Cane Juice - originally squeezed out from the sugar cane sticks and it's absolutely fresh! Pictures below of how it was produced by the old couple!

This is the Chee Cheong Fun, Fried Mee Hoon and the Barly Beancurd Sheet dessert Stall. Their working speed is freaking fast plus superb brain memory storage.

[Eat] Succulent Steamed Rare Fish (Amazon/Siamese Red Tail Catfish) + Stewed Pork Leg + Bak Kut Teh @Hou Yee Kei Bak Kut Teh Stall/Corner (好易记肉骨茶) OUG

In conjunction of Mother's Day celebration dinner, we supposedly set to have dinner in one of the luxurious restaurant but after long consideration we decided to go to one place lesser people that we ate before once for long time ago. So it was the Hou Yee Kei Bak Kut Teh Stall/Corner 好易记肉骨茶 OUG. It wasn't a shop nor a restaurant but it was just corner with the normal zinc roof on top and open air space with tables and chairs. We remembered it was nice before so give it a try once again.

We ordered 2 types of fish + 1 dish of pork leg + 1 portion of bak kut teh + 1 plateful of vegetables.

Steamed Rare Fishes + Stewed Pork Leg + Bak Kut Teh + Vegetables-Yau Mak Choi (油麥菜) = Unforgettable succulent dinner.

Savory Steamed Rare Fish (Amazon Redtail Catfish/Siamese Redtail Catfish/紅尾鴨嘴/紅尾虎) - the meat texture was incredibly tender and toothsome. I did a research about this type of fish, it is known as an excellent sport fish which requires a long spirited battle on rod and line and it was being called with different names (best name I could find would be the above). It is famous as primary target species for the anglers. Not easy to catch, but it seems to be one of the common aquarium fish. In Kuala Lumpur, I hardly could be offered with such fish nor seen in any of my friends' aquarium. But no doubt, this fish was definitely a must try and the taste of it was just perfectly flavoured. Irresistible!

Couldn't resist to show you guys more on this fish.  Based on the facts that I managed to research on the internet, this size is considered very small. It can grow very big and huge, some I saw was about 35kg weight. I'm definitely interested to know more about this fish.

Another view of this fish! Awesome!

Big Head Carp Steamed Fish with garlic and ginger, topped with chopped parsley

The Big Head Carp Fish was pretty big though-yummy!

Succulent Stewed Pork Leg garnished with parsley

Closer view of the stewed pork-the taste was superb, mouth-watering.

The more I look at it, the more I wanted to eat it again!

Oh! Almost forgotten to introduce their main dish actually - Bak Kut Teh. However, I think the other dishes above way too good compare to this-totally overcame it.

Romaine Lettuce Chinese Style - normal way the oyster sauce and some  fried garlic garnishing.

Name: Hou Yee Kei Bak Kut Teh Stall/Corner (好易记肉骨茶)
Location: Pretty hard to spot actually, it's at a corner of a shoplot. Nearby Jalan Mesra Ria Road / Road next to Sunday's Pasar Malam (Inter-junction of OUG and Kuchai Lama traffic lights). Check out the pictures above on how it looks like.
Price: Absolutely cheaper than alot of chinese restaurants in KL.

[Eat] Yummy Chee Cheong Fun 猪肠粉 (Steamed Rice Roll) @Uni Choice Taman Yulek, Cheras KL

It was a relaxing Saturday, woke up late and had lunch with sister and mum. During our lunch, I have suggested to go for a movie, we watched 'Safe' by Jason Statham. I have to say it was a great action movie, story was pretty good too. Must watch! Okay let's back to our food topic :-p. Came home and took a power nap after few previous busy weeks I have. So woke up about 8 or 9 pm, of course my stomach is asking for food again.

My sister basically shouting for food too and suggested to go for Chee Cheong Fun (Steamed Rice Roll) in Taman Yulek Cheras. So I have to get out my bed asap to get myself ready and rushed to my car, my mum also prepared herself with nice clothes. Drove our way there, luckily managed to get a car park slot for the first round. Out of 10 times, only 1 time I could get so lucky for this slot nearby to the stall. Oh yea, it's a road side/street stall but serves yummy chee cheong fun and it's famous in KL!

[Eat] Asam Laksa + Chinese White Chicken @Restoran Ah Loy, OUG

Tasty Asam Laksa
About few days back, I was being tagged in one of the high school friend's picture on how delicious and almost similar taste to our high school canteen's Asam Laksa. So we commented quite a lot on the picture and finally we got to one point that we will go and taste it together. Appointment set and our date was yesterday night, anticipated to see them again for quite sometime though.

It's good to have some gatherings with old friends to get updated/gossips once again. :p  I bet everyone will do so, just to concern/care for friends. And I'm glad to have friends that could share moments with me most of the time, well sometimes fun and silly moments. LOL!

So here we were at Restoran Ah Loy, OUG (Overseas Union Garden) on Thursday night and coincidentally Pasar Malam OUG will be held here every Thursday. So our plan just got even more interesting :-), therefore after Asam Laksa, we could so some walking to digest our food and buy some stuffs from it. Sounded so well-planned and great!

Closer look of the Asam Laksa
This is the closer look of the Asam Laksa and it was served with quite a generous amount of prawn/shrimp paste, which normally we called it 'Har Ko' (蝦羔). Also, the ingredients are usually with shredded mackerel fish, mint leaves and finely sliced onions+pineapple. Probably some other hidden ingredients included in it, that might be out of my knowledge.

Add-on order : Chinese White Chicken dish
One of my friend decided to order Chinese White Chicken dish as an add-on for our Asam Laksa.

The signage board of Kedai Makanan Ah Loy (Ah Loy Restaurant).
Due to the low light of the environment, the signage board of Kedai Makanan Ah Loy (Ah Loy Restaurant) was pretty dark and blur. Will try to capture better picture next time :-)

Ah Loy Curry Restaurant Menu
"Fu Chuk Yee Mai Ping" - Iced Barley with Beancurd Sheet  as my drink for the night

We managed to end the bill up with more than RM30, and entitled for free Carlsberg Gold, while stocks last. (left-box view & right-bottle view). Love freebies!

Had a satisfied dinner with the girls and we marched on for Pasar Malam OUG. Pasar Malam pictures will be published in another post. :-)
